A Word From the Owner, Eddie Lalama: My journey in the truck repair industry began with my dad, who opened Carlos Truck Repair in 1980. After working alongside him, I attended technical college and went on to work with two respected companies in the industry, where I spent years expanding and refining my technical expertise. At the second company, I started as a technician, but the business lessons my dad taught me helped me quickly advance to foreman and, within two years, service manager - expanding my knowledge of the industry beyond the technical side.
For a long time, I thought my job was simply to be a mechanic. But over the years, I realized there was something I enjoyed even more: helping people. The conversations with people - listening to their concerns, understanding what they needed, and finding a way to help – were what energized me. That realization changed the way I looked at the business.
In 2010, I took over my dad's business and built it into Universal Truck Repair Inc. It has been a journey filled with opportunities, successes, and lessons. Through all of it, one thing has remained constant: people come first.
